Charter Schools are succeeding, and now they seek certainty.
Charter School students are described by the Ministry of Education as ‘Priority Learners’, ‘priority’ because their learning success has always been poor. Now finally there is a school model that is working, Charter Schools, which are achieving great results with these students. Yet our Government, a Government that wishes to address social deprivation, is set on sending these vulnerable Maori & Pasifika students back to the State System that they opted out of because it was serving them so poorly, as it has for decades. We do of course have a very good state education system, but it doesn’t succeed well with Priority Learners. (www.etipuerea.org)
